Professional Carpet/Floor Cleaning Methods
Picture
Hot Steam Clean Extraction (restorative)
  • The #1 cleaning method among certified professionals and manufactures.
  • Recommended by most manufacturers warranties.
Hot steam clean extraction is the most effective cleaning option and is the only method which sanitizes your carpets.

Bonnet Cleaning (buffing)
  • Provides the best looking finished product.
  • Voids most manufacturers warranties.
  • Very aggressive cleaning technique.
  • Only provides a superficial cleaning. Not a deep cleaning method.
The bonnet method is performed by applying a chemical detergent to the carpet and using an absorbent pad on a rotary shampoo machine to extract the dirt. It is good for commercial premises with large areas of carpet tiles.

Dry Cleaning (dry powder)
  • Fastest drying time
  • Typically used for commercial applications (rarely residential)
  • Mostly used for high traffic areas.
  • Only provides a superficial cleaning. Not a deep cleaning method.
The dry cleaning method is often considered preferable because there is no need to wait for the carpets to dry. This method is performed by covering the carpet with a special cleaning powder that is designed to attract dirt like a magnet. Once the powder is worked into the carpet, it is thoroughly vacuumed away.

Carpet Cleaning
Picture
Specialized cleaning

High end rugs typically need to removed from the site and cleaned in a specialized facility. This is due to their unique construction and materials used in a given piece. Some residential rugs may be cleaned on location. However, a skilled cleaner will usually evaluate each rug and provide cleaning off premises.

Commercial rugs/runners can be cleaned on site with standard carpet cleaning techniques.

Professional Upholstery Cleaning
Picture
Steam Cleaning (restorative)
  • Known as the most effective cleaning among certified professionals.
  • Will not void a manufacturers warranty.
  • Includes specialty wands.
  • Eliminates odors from inside the upholstery if cleaned correctly.
Also known as ‘spray and extraction’ – this is the most effective cleaning option and is the only method which sanitizes your upholstery. A powerful machine injects a solution of detergent (avg. 100-400psi) and hot 200+ degree water into the carpet or upholstery. This is then extracted by the machine. The carpets or upholstery dry very quickly, the dirt and microbes are 97% removed (if done correctly), and if injected with cleaners and deodorizers  the upholstery feels and smells fresh.
